Photokina 2010 news-Ricoh releases new digital camera Ricoh G700 with water and dust resistance for reliable use even in harsh environments such as those encountered in work situations. Successor model to the popular Ricoh G600, a new camera Ricoh G700 resistant reached the impact resistance, capable of withstanding a drop of 2.0 m (1.5 m when conversion lens is attached) to Ricoh drops tests based on the standards of the u.s. Department of Defense, and is also capable of shooting underwater up to two hours at depths of up to 5.0 m. Also, the features of Ricoh G700 newly added chemical resistance to ethanol and hypochlorous acid, and enhanced security features such as password protection.
Ricoh Camera waterproof and shock-resistant
The digital camera Ricoh G700 inherits the previous model's 5 x optical wide-angle zoom (equivalent to 28-140 mm for a 35 mm camera) and flash 10 m range. Is perfect for use in a wide range of environments, such as construction, public works and sites of disaster as medical facilities and manufacturing plants where equipment must be cleaned and disinfected. A structure resistant and stronger barrel create a rugged body able to withstand drops from 2.0 m to 26 in the drop test compliant surfaces at the u.s. Department of Defense MIL 810F standards (with optional conversion lens attached, 1.5 m. predecessor was 1.5 m for one body.) The camera is shock-resistant Ricoh G700 satisfies this same standard drop even with the power on.
Ricoh G700 features
The Ricoh G700 has a great image 3.0-inch 920,000 dots VGA HD display. Easy to see even outdoors, this display allows you to take photographs more precise, the installation of a light sensor makes it possible to increase the visibility of image by automatically adjusting display brightness according to ambient light level. We have also added the electronic level function that has proven extremely popular models like the GR DIGITAL III. Makes it easy to take pictures while shooting levels in subjects such as buildings and interiors.

Flash has an effective range up to 10 m for wide-angle and telephoto to 6.2 m. There is also a shoe accessory which can be connected an external flash. Ricoh G700 waterproof and shock-resistant camera features a wide-angle zoom lens 28-140 mm. It may cover the whole of a large building and images of the frame well in confined areas and 5 x optical zoom can reach too inaccessible to shoot from close by. For even more extensive, there is also an optional conversion lens (35 mm film equivalent: angle of about 22 mm at the highest level). Commercially available 37 mm filters can also be attacked.

The lithium-ion high capacity provided with the camera gives long battery for approx. 360 shots (CIPA standards). If the battery runs out, readily available AAA alkaline batteries can be used instead and an AC adapter is convenient for internal use. With the AAA-size alkaline batteries, can be taken about 40 shots (CIPA standards). When the camera is connected to a personal computer via a USB cable, is recognized as an external storage device, so the images in the camera can be transferred to your computer without using special software. Full automatic transfer is also available with special software.
