Nikon Europe announced the revolutionary Nikon D3 Professional Digital SLR that defines a new benchmark in professional photography. ?Nikon has eclipsed the competition with the Nikon D3, a cutting edge camera that will change how professional photographers take pictures,? said Robert Cristina, Manager Professional Products & IPS, Nikon Europe BV. ?The incredible speed, resolution and flexibility of the Nikon D3 digital SLR camera will enable photographers to capture images under conditions previously thought impossible.? The Nikon D3 single lens reflex, the result of years of development and feedback from professional photographers, combines many innovative Nikon technologies.

Nikon D3

Nikon D3 digital SLR camera - Dimensions and Availability
These include an exclusive 12.1 effective megapixel FX format (36.0x23.9mm) image sensor with 12-channel read out, a blazing-fast 9 fps frame rate, expandable ISO settings from 200-6400, a completely new 51-Point autofocus system, a 3-inch VGA LCD screen with Live View and a cutting-edge image processing system. The D3 body measures 159.5 (W) ?157 (H) ?87 (D) mm and weighs 1,390 grams including battery. It will be available in Europe from November 2007.

Nikon D3 single lens reflex - Image sensor and Sensitivity
The new Nikon D3 FX format CMOS imaging sensor was designed from the ground up to offer exceptional light transmission properties, so photographers can acquire outstanding image quality even in low light conditions. With a high signal to noise ratio, a pixel pitch 15% larger than competitive cameras, gapless surface micro-lenses, high-quality images under very low light levels are now possible. The sensor enables an ISO settings range from 200-6400, expandable up to the equivalent of 25,600 or down to 100.

Nikon D3 D-SLR camera - EXPEED Image Processing System
The EXPEED image processing system is at the heart of the D3?s ability to capture and process massive amounts of data at high definition. The EXPEED system includes both hardware and years of Nikon image processing know-how. The Nikon D3 EXPEED system features 14-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion with 16-bit image processing, both of which contribute to delivering results with Nikon?s signature ?look and feel? of rich accurate colours, smooth skin gradations and exceptional detail.

Nikon D3 camera - Scene Recognition System
In another first, the D3 features a radical new approach to calculating exposures and white balance with intelligent support for Autofocus tracking performance as well. At the heart of the Scene Recognition System is Nikon?s renowned 1005-pixel RGB metering sensor that has been modified to distinguish subjects shape and position for improved auto exposure and Autofocus accuracy.

Nikon D3 digital SLR - Autofocus and AF module
Building on years of development through both the analogue and digital SLR era, Nikon has once again raised the bar for optical Autofocus systems. The Nikon D3 and D300 feature a completely new 51-Point autofocus system designed to acquire and track subjects? movement more accurately. The result of intensive studies into how professional sports and news photographers use autofocus, the Multi-CAM3500 AF module features the most AF points ever developed for a SLR camera. The inspired coupling of the AF module with Nikon?s easy-to-use 8-direction multi selector button makes selecting instant individual AF points simple and fast. As one would expect the AF system can be completely customized for every possible shooting condition.

Nikon D3

Nikon D3 - Responsiveness and Lag time
The image quality of the Nikon D3 is combined with outstanding frame rate options. At 9 fps, the Nikon D3 is the world?s fastest FX format D-SLR, with an even faster 11fps (Autofocus tracking disabled) consecutive shooting possible in DX crop mode. A second crop mode is also premiered in the Nikon D3, with 5:4 (30mm x 24mm) aspect ratio. Shutter release time lag is an imperceptible 41 milliseconds (CIPA standard), while the image sensor?s integrated high-speed 12-channel readout contributes both to burst speed and Live View performance. The Nikon D3 DSLR also gets to work quickly; startup time is just 0.12 seconds and mirror black out is a mere, class leading 74ms.

Nikon D3 professional SLR camera - Shutter unit and D-Lighting
The new professional Nikon D3 incorporates an all-new Nikon manufactured shutter unit tested to over 300,000 cycles. The shutter blades are constructed from a durable composite Kevlar and carbon fibre material to deliver unmatched durability and accuracy even in the most demanding of conditions. The Active D-Lighting feature of the Nikon D3 adds to its JPEG capabilities. Prior to shooting under high contrast conditions, users can apply a pre-set curve that processes images with improved shadow and highlight details, without affecting overall contrast.

Nikon D3 system camera - Picture control and Customize
Nikon?s new Picture Control system, developed with the help of extensive feedback from photographers, offers improved productivity for JPEG shooters. Picture Control lets users of all levels manage and customize the appearance of their images in camera. This on-board processing saves significant post processing time. With a variety of default settings, photographers can also customize and share settings. Nikon anticipates photographic communities might develop their own Picture Control settings for specific subjects and conditions. Picture Control replaces the existing Color Mode settings of current Nikon cameras.

Nikon D3 D-SLR - High Definition and Live view
Everything about the Nikon D3 is high definition. From the HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) port for output to the latest HD displays to the 3-inch VGA LCD screen with 170-degree viewing angle, images can be played back at very high levels of detail. The new VGA screen also comes into its own when using the new Live View function premiered in the Nikon D3 and D300. Unlike other live view technologies, autofocus is possible in all Nikon Live View modes.

Nikon D3

Nikon D3 SLR - Storage and Card slots
The Nikon D3 is the world?s first D-SLR to offer dual CompactFlash card slots for outstanding storage flexibility. A photographer can shoot images to each card one after the other, or simultaneously, as back up. When shooting combined NEF + JPEG files, the NEF image can be written to one card and the JPEG version to the other. Image files can also be selected and copied from one card to the other after shooting.

Nikon D3 - Alloy and Body
Long the choice of professionals Nikon SLRs are renowned for withstanding the most challenging conditions. From freezing temperatures of the arctic to the humidity of the rainforest, Nikons keep working long after other cameras have ceased to operate, and the Nikon D3 is built to continue this tradition. Magnesium alloy is used for the exterior cover, chassis and mirror box, while the seams and buttons of the camera body are sealed against the affects of dust and moisture.

Nikon D3 professional D-SLR - Wireless networking
Nikon pioneered wireless image transmission. Now, with the new Nikon Wireless Transmitter WT-4 (WT-4 versions vary according to regional/national radio frequency regulations), the era of the multi camera network has arrived. Not only can one transmit (?push?) images to servers and remotely control the camera from afar, the Nikon WT-4 also enables remote browsing of the camera?s image thumbnails as well. In a wireless environment, networks of up to 5 Nikon D3 and D300 cameras can be established. At a sports event, for example, photo editors could browse all thumbnails on each camera simultaneously, selecting (?pulling?) the images they need, while the photographers continue shooting.

Nikkor lenses - Telephoto and Zoom
Five new NIKKOR lenses are also launched today. They include a ground-breaking extreme wide-angle zoom lens, the AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED and a slim line standard zoom, the AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED. Nikon has also launched three all-new super telephoto lenses with VR (Vibration Reduction), the AF-S 400mm f/2.8G ED VR, AF-S 500mm f/4G ED VR and AF-S 600mm f/4G ED VR.

T' sleeping giant ' is the name of Samsung in the photo. And sleeping doesn't seem too far we discovered, after visiting the booth of Samsung. Concerning floor space, Samsung had sufficient space to showcase many of its new products, and it is rather surprising that Samsung has nothing or almost nothing, to declare as for cameras. All products but a prototype, the Samsung HZ1, were introduced at CES and PMA (January 2008). Samsung seems to omit profiling the company as a manufacturer of innovative camera and serious of the world's largest and most important imaging event, except for some camera models, introduced in July.

Samsung cameras

Samsung HZ1 digital camera
Camera of Samsung prototype on display during the Photokina is the world's first compact camera with 10 x optical zoom lens with a focal length starting at 24 mm. Optical Zoom offers a range of 24-240 mm. The Samsung HZ1 digital camera is the first in the world with a 10 x optical zoom, including a goal of 24 mm ultra wide angle lens. In addition, this 10 megapixel camera offers HD shooting opportunities. The images are played on a 2.7-inch LCD monitor. The camera Samsung HZ1 is destined to become available in December 2008.

Samsung and Pentax cooperation
For now, the cooperation of Hoya Corporation Pentax Imaging Systems Division and Samsung don't seem to much success when it comes to digital SLR cameras. Although Samsung has made it quite clear during the various events which certainly are willing to participate in the creation of an entry level DSLR, Pentax Hoya is introducing the Pentax K-m and a number of new lenses during the Photokina.

Gitzo, revered the world over for its accuracy and quality of bringing new products to market for the professional photo and video tripod technology has redesigned it's breakthrough 6 X. First launched in late 2005, 6 X carbon fiber tripods used a revolutionary design process that reduced overall up to 17 percent of weight without sacrificing strength or stability. Next generation 6 X tripod mechanism features an innovative G-lock, a new feature at ground level, more new discs and bolt the new G-lock-or gravity-lock mechanism is Gitzo's evolution of the system lock twist. Completely revised locks are faster, stronger, and 20 percent stiffer than standard twist locks.

Gitzo tripods

Gitzo G-Lock block gravity
Year after year, Gitzo has improved lock and standard technology, this revolutionary G-Lock is fixed once again as the market leader and standard setters. The only cone-shaped ramp and clamping ring creates an effect of locking gravity-greater vertical load applied to legs, the stronger the blocking effect is, resulting in a rock solid tripod. Photokina is very special for Gitzo this year. 2007 marks Gitzo's 90th anniversary and to celebrate, we're launching a new generation of carbon fiber tripods, said Luca Alessandrini.

Gitzo light weighted carbon fiber tripods
New high-tech and exclusive features like the G-Lock, Ground level Set and Safe Lock disk introduce a new level of performance and quality to the market. Gitzo definitely is going to continue to be, after 90 years, the most advanced camera support and imitated brand in the market. all 6 X tripod more disks and bolts also have been completely redesigned. The discs, which are composed of aluminium, have a new safe block material that reduces vibration and improves clamping head.

Gitzo carbon fiber tripods-shooting angles
The new design of bolt stainless steel prevents falling within the column and makes it easier to control and adjust the length of the tread. The bolts are also resistant to corrosion and oxidation. New Gitzo tripod X 6 also offers a new feature at ground level-style single Gitzo s. The removable center column and the upper disk can be directly applied to the casting and locked in position. With only a few seconds to set up, this intelligent built-in solution dramatically increased the flexibility of tripods and ultra low shooting angles, weight reduction and increased stability. Also featured are on line updated removable feet for mounting worn new rubber feet, foot peak or other accessories. All Gitzo tripod 6 X come with a dust bag for storage and packaging.

Carbon Fiber Tripod-camera support
The new 6 X tube consists of a single six-glued layers structure that maximizes the rigidity, vibration dampening and lightweight performance. Gitzo's 6 X tube has a high density structure and is made from high quality carbon fibre ultra thin (7 m or 0.007 mm). For example, a series 2 contains carbon fibres 1,500,000. In order to optimize the ratio of weight, 6 X tube wall thickness varies accordingly to pipe diameter: up to 2 thick tube series is 1 mm (30% lighter than the pipe 1.5 mm), 1.2 mm for series 3 tubes, 1.4 mm for series 4 and series 5 to 1.5 mm. Pipe X 6 sets new standards of performance technology and supports behind closed doors.

Gitzo carbon fiber tripods-Anti rotation of leg
Cori Gitzo 6 x technology is that the new multi-layer range six crossed that characterizes the system of rotation of the leg (ALR). The system allows for quick configuration ALR and smooth, but retains the clamping force without compromises traditional Gitzo system lock twist. Just loosen all locks at the same time twist and pull down the leg before tightening them, making installation a mere 15 seconds for this tripod five dissected.

Olympus presents the latest addition to the E-System, the world?s smallest and lightest D-SLR camera - the E-400. The compact size and low weight of this latest Four Thirds Standard camera, allows photographers to take it virtually anywhere, while not having to do without the considerable benefits of SLR photography. This model features a new CCD with 10.0 million pixels and a state-of-the-art amplifier circuit for incredible imaging performance at super fast speed. As the design of the E-400 is based on the Four Thirds Standard, users have virtually unlimited flexibility. A wide range of high-quality, interchangeable lenses, including the Olympus Zuiko Digital Top Pro lenses, plus other accessories are available for all types of needs.

Olympus E400

Olympus E-400 - Small & Light SLR
As with all E-System cameras, the E-400 features the Supersonic Wave Filter - ensuring dust-free photography, even after changing lenses under challenging conditions. As it is the world?s smallest and lightest D-SLR, the E-400 is sure to never become a burden. It is the perfect travel companion, compact enough to take along on holidays or for use as a high quality back-up camera when out on the road.

Olympus E400 D-SLR - 10.0 million pixel CCD sensor
Within its extraordinarily tiny frame is a treasure-trove of innovative technology. To begin with, a 10.0 million pixel CCD provides plenty of imaging power so that even the finest of details do not go to waste. This highly energy-efficient CCD features a state-of-the-art amplifier circuit that all but eradicates noise and is incredibly fast. It enables sequential shooting at up to 3fps with a five image RAW buffer in burst mode.

Olympus E-system SLR camera - Supersonic Wave filter
Like every Olympus E-System camera, the E-400 is armed with a Supersonic Wave Filter. This patented technology allows lenses to be changing - even in challenging environments - without the fear of dust contamination, giving users the brilliance of dust-free pictures every time. Developed by Olympus, the Supersonic Wave Filter generates ultra-high-speed vibrations that literally shake off dust and other particles from the CCD. These are then captured on a special adhesive membrane to prevent recontamination. For the E-400, the Supersonic Wave Filter has been optimised with smaller dimensions and a higher frequency of vibrations for even more effectiveness.

Olympus E-400 DSLR camera - 31 Scene modes
The Olympus E-400 proves that even a feature-packed D-SLR needn?t be difficult to operate. Of course it includes the full range of manual control options for boundless creativity, and complements these with 31 scene modes that cover a wide variety of shooting situations. These include Underwater, Macro, High Key and Low Key. Users also benefit from special colour modes and the possibility to apply various Black&White filters to images.

Olympus E400 DSLR camera - Battery & Memory
So that photographers can continue shooting as long as they wish, the E-400 is powered by a new high-power rechargeable battery. The camera also accepts both CompactFlash and xD-Picture Cards, giving a choice of data storage options for even more flexibility. And, to ensure that the versatility and quality of E-System photography is open to as many people as possible, the menus on the E-400, as well as its manuals and software, can be displayed any one of 25 languages, making the camera completely understandable in 39 European countries - something only Olympus currently offers.

Olympus E-400 digital SLR - Zuiko Digital Top Pro lenses
As with all E-Series cameras, the E-400 conforms to the Four Thirds Standard. Olympus and various other manufacturers produce high-quality Four Thirds-compliant lenses and accessories that are specifically designed for digital SLR image capture. With only very few exceptions, the E-400 is compatible with virtually the complete range of Olympus E-System accessories. This includes the full line-up of the Zuiko Digital Top Pro lenses, which recently received an EISA award. Even an Underwater Case (PT-E03) will be available to let adventurous photographers capture the delights of the aquatic world in up to 40m of water.

Olympus E400 SLR camera - Four Thirds lenses
For better results and improved handling, lenses based on the Four Thirds Standard feature near telecentric construction, which takes into account the specific technical characteristics and requirements of digital cameras. Two new Olympus Four Thirds lenses will be introduced with the E-400 at its launch: the EZ-1442 ED 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 (equiv. to 28-84mm on a 35mm camera), which is perfect for standard applications, and, for more magnification power there is the EZ-4015-2 ED 40-150mm 1:4.0-5.6 (equiv. to 80-300mm on a 35mm camera). Both lenses are exceptionally compact, for greater mobility and speedy use. They also offer maximum image quality at an excellent price and feature a stylish design with a blue ring in the middle - the new insignia for the Olympus E-System lens line-up.

Olympus E-400 reflex camera - Great image quality
The E-400 achieves a remarkable balancing act between being the world?s smallest and lightest D-SLR and relinquishing nothing in terms of image quality and professional performance. It combines the size usually attributed to compact cameras with the stunningly crisp picture quality and versatility expected from an SLR. The E-400 will be available from November 2006.

Horseman shows the SW-D2 Pro, super wide-angle camera, the camera Pro LD, high-end back accessory for adding features of bellows and the Knight 3D Stereo camera at Photokina. The Knight will highlight three new products at Photokina this week, including the super wide angle camera SW-D2 Pro and high-end camera LD Pro stereo 3D back camera of Knight. The Horseman SW-D2 Pro is a high-end version of large format digital camera SWD has announced this year. The Horseman SW-D2 Pro will feature Mount additional compatibility for SWD interchangeable digital back, plus some new design improvements that will open up new dimensions for large format digital photography.

Horseman SW-D2 Pro

Horseman LD Pro camera back
In addition to SW-D2 Pro, Knight will also show the Pro LD, a high-end camera back accessory that is equipped with a slide-back mechanism to allow the installation of a high end camera back to give full bellows and functions allow you to convert the LD in a 4 x 5 inch camera. The LD Pro takes high-end digital backs, such as Phase One, leaf, Imacon & Sinar. For professionals, the ability to manipulate the movement of the camera can make a difference in the quality and sharpness.

High-end camera Knight LD Pro back-depth of field
The Horseman LD Pro allows users to easily control depth of field, distortion and lateral shift or be able to pass one-touch vertical/horizontal operation. LD Pro has a system of four-way switch insert. Also has interchangeable camera mounting system, which includes Hasselblad H, Hasselblad V and Mamiya 645 plates. Among the improvements of the design for the Pro-2, SWD is moving the tripod base from the center of the combat front.

Horseman SW-D2 Pro

Horseman SW camera-Hasselblad Mount wide-angle-D2
This means lateral shift, and uphill/downhill can be applied, keeping the camera on the tripod head, because the front (side lens) can be mounted on the tripod head and gives you the freedom of rear (side) to move up/down and left/right for seams without changing the composition of the image. The SW-D 2 Pro is the only super wide-angle camera that can do this. With its unique interchangeable system, the SWD is now compatible with not only the Monte V Hasselblad, Hasselblad H and also Mamiya 645 mount.

Knight-room Stereo 3D Studio photographers
The 3D stereo camera, Knight began late last month of dispatch will be shown too. The Knight 3D gives photographers studio portrait photography for events like weddings, commemorative photos of kids and Pet photography. The Knight 3D is also expected to find a wide range of applications in sectors such as the scientific criminal investigation by police and registration in academic research.

The iPad Apple there is, after some months of rumors and speculation predicted with Steve Jobs keynote speech, last January, as the highlight, Apple's latest product is on our desk, to play the role of leader in this Apple iPad review. Accurately unknown, strategic Apple's marketing department has managed to put a product on the market who knows two extremes from the beginning. Is seen as spectacular success by Apple fans and as mindless, non-adding nothing new on the other side-often not Apple-owner.

Apple iPad review

Apple iPad review
After Apple iPad charged through the USB cable, which is slowly enough for that matter, we gave a first run. Coincidentally, it was sunny outside when we were testing, so that the iPad was made also with us to try it while relaxing in a caf. This has made it clear that the iPad's display gives a bit of trouble with Reflection. It depends a bit on how the sunlight falls on the screen, but when he starts reflecting, iPad inevitably must be moved to a different location. Another point is, how to handle the iPad? There doesn't seem to be an answer to this question. Some will use the Apple iPad on their laps, while others will benefit from many optional accessories like the iPad dock, which can be used.

Apple iPad review

Apple iPad review
The Apple iPad's screen is 9.7 inches and has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Our experience with the iPad's display is positive. With the exception of reflection sometimes annoying, the reproduction of the image is of high quality. The angle of the image is bigger than you are used with a standard laptop or netbook, but the display does its best to shut down, without any direct light on the display. The colour reproduction is excellent, with the contrast and color saturation. How well the high contrast display handles is notable. Black is a deep black, with a whiter than white experience next to it! It's great!

IPad review
Apple iPad is a revolutionary new tablet that has changed the way that we look at today's tablets. The Apple iPad has a LED-backlit IPS display high-resolution, 9.7 inches that is remarkably crisp and vivid. IPad is a perfect device for web browsing, watching movies or viewing photos. The multi-touch screen on iPad is based on the same revolutionary technology on iPhone.
